Default Thank Everything- elonas done after like 40 tries

After a freaking WEEK and something like 30 or 40 tries literally, I finally got in group and we stomped elonas. Teamwork was abundant and we beat it with no monk. I'm so freaking happy. I stomped my semi retarded mirror in like 10 seconds, then walked through those strength, darkness whatever quest. Then the dragon killed me. Haha, hell of a way to discover the bonus, thats for sure. Anyway, I'm freaking pumped. Go guild wars.

40 tries??

oh my god...
there are two possible explanations here:

1) you were REALLY unlucky with the teams you joined.
2) you suck

either way, congratz on finally getting the mission

It took me around 15 times to beat elona's reach with my first character. Why ?
Because every time there was someone in the group who thought :
"Look, there's a gap in the enemy lines, we can just run through there."
and just rushed in there getting surrounded and aggroing like one third of the map
While I understand that trying the mission a lot of times can be very frustrating, getting impatient won't help for sure.

Yeah, I think a lot of people see the timer and panic, refusing to carefully pull, or watch the enemies' movement patterns and wait to engage them when it's a sure thing you won't get a second group coming up on you. I've spent a couple minutes before waiting for two groups of enemies to move in such a way that I could engage one without the other, and still had over 12 minutes left when I finished the misison.

Beyond that, I don't see where people can be having problems. It's by far the easiest of the Ascension missions. I've done it with only henchmen four times now. Perhaps it's easier with henchmen; it often seems that the difference between henchmen and real players is the difference between AI and ADHD. The biggest thing Elona Reach requires is patience.

I am so lucky I finished elonas before the patch and we did the wall cheat, or else it would have taken me probebly a long time before I would finish.

Oh and congragulations.

I've done the 3 mission with a 3rd character now, this time i had really no problems. Elona and Thirsty at 1st try, Dunes at 2nd since some guy rushed the ghostly hero
I still think dunes is the easiest one of the 3. But if you spend some time on explaining how it can be done to the people who do the mission for the first time all 3 can be really easy.

I think it's true these 3 missions teach you some teamplay and tactics.
* Elona's Reach teaches you patience
* Thirsty River teaches you good timing
* Dunes of Despair teaches you ... uhm .. dodging worm attacks ?

Well i was lucky in that i got in a great group who got me though all 3 mission 1st time. Then i went to help a guild mate and it all started going wrong in elona if GW did'nt crash for some one. Then npcs would wander off for no reason and aggro half the map or something else would go wrong. tooks about us about 5 or 6 attemps AT LEAST to do it. I'm dreading doing it with my w/mo
